What is the difference between N.O. and N.C. AW series filter regulators with an auto drain?
-
When a certain amount of drainage is accumulated, the automatic discharge operation is the same for N.O. (normally open) and N.C. (normally closed) types.
When the air pressure in the outlet side piping (inside the auto drain) of the air source is less than 0.1 MPa with the air source (compressor) turned OFF, the valve of the auto drain opens and the accumulated drain is discharged.
This is for the N.O. type auto drain. In contrast, the N.C type auto drain maintains the closed state even when pressure is removed.
Refer to the FAQs about the differences between N.O. and N.C. float type auto drains and their usage, which can be found here.
