Can a 2-wire auto switch be used with either NPN or PNP?: Yes, it can be used with NPN or PNP.
If a load is connected between the brown wire of the auto switch and the positive wire of the power supply, it can be used with NPN. If a load is connected between the blue wire of the auto switch and the negative wire of the power supply, it can be used with PNP.
