What is the difference between old CY1S, old CDY1S, and new and old CY1S-Z series cylinders?
-
The CY1S and CDY1S series were discontinued in September 2013 and replaced with the refreshed CY1S-Z series. The new type with a “Z” is easier to use, featuring a shorter overall length and reduced weight. The new and old products remain interchangeable. The main changes are as follows.
1) The weight has been reduced and the overall length has been shortened (with retained mounting interchangeability).
2) RJ series soft stop shock absorbers are now fitted as standard.
3) Stroke accuracy and repeatability have been improved due to the addition of an adjustment bolt (for the type with a shock absorber).
4) Auto switches can now be mounted at any stroke position, and small switches have been newly adopted.
5) Lube-retainers are now mounted on the internal and external cylinder surfaces to maintain lubrication.
6) A bilateral piping type has been added. The centralized piping type can still be selected by adding a “G” to the part number.
7) Type H has been standardized for the magnetic holding force.
8) There is no longer a separate part number for the type with a switch rail (the old CDY1S) due to the standardization of the switch rail.
9) There is no seal kit interchangeability.
