Attempting to transmit a large cylinder force using a long piston rod may cause the piston rod to bend. This phenomenon is called buckling. The max. stroke length that can be used without buckling differs depending on the cylinder mounting method, the type of mounting brackets used, and how the rod end is secured.
While cylinders with a long stroke can indeed be manufactured, it must be understood that the product will have a shorter product life than usual due to wear of the seals caused by buckling. However, since the performance cannot be guaranteed, the customer is requested to take measures such as installing a guide, etc.
